Forward In Christ

It's a new year, and you'll notice some new things in Forward in Christ.

Probably the most obvious change is the new look. We've updated the inside pages as well as the cover with new styles, fonts, and photos. We've also added the synod logo and tagline, "Christ's Love, Our Calling." That message of love—from Christ to us and from us to others—is not new to FIC, but it is one that we will continue to communicate.

Three new contributing editors—Pastor Norman Burger, Pastor Kenneth Brokmeier, and Pastor Michael Woldt—will be sharing that message in upcoming issues. We thank outgoing editors Pastor Peter Panitzke (whose last article is in this issue), Prof. Stephen Geiger, and Pastor Thomas Jeske for their insights and dedication over the past six years.

In a new series starting this month, Prof. John Brenner from Wisconsin Lutheran Seminary will be looking at what Christ's love means to us and all believers. This six-part series is based off his 2009 synod convention essay. In the second half of 2010, Pastor Jon Schroeder will follow up that series by discussing our calling.
